Best Audiobooks of Recent Times

As any person who has travelled knows, audiobooks can make the roads go by faster. It can be a spine-tingling horror or can transport you into different world. They can also teach you something or tell you someone's real story. It also fills a lot of time which is great when you are in a truck for a long time. No matter what you like, there is an audiobook for you.

How to Sell a Haunted House by Grady Hendrix- This goofy, dark, and emotional horror novel follow two estranged siblings as they work together to clean out their parent's house... but it happens to be full of puppets. I recently read this book and I was enraptured by this novel from beginning to end because of the horror and the secrets that are revealed throughout the book.

I'm Glad my Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy- One of the major hits for audiobooks last year, this book follows Jennette McCurdy as she tells her story. Read by the author, McCurdy tells listener the brutally honest truth about her controlling mother forcing her into fame and how she dealt with being one of the biggest kid's television stars of the 2000s.

The Sandman by Neil Gaiman- Remember that really cool comic book from the 2000s? You may know that they adapted it to tv show, but what you may not know is Audible also released an audiobook based off the comic book. This audiobook follows Lord Morpheous, also known as The Sandman, as he is trapped on Earth by cult for decades, only to escape and rebuild his dominion to its once great state.

Good Neighbors by Sarah Langan- This book follows two families living in the same suburb...where a pit opens up in the middle of town. The two families brawl all while their kids pull together in friendship and the parents tear themselves apart while murderous intentions start brewing in *someone*. I personally did read this book (because Grady Hendrix recommended it) and it is absolutely gripping from beginning to end, especially as all of the facades fall.

Bad Blood by John Carreyou- As Elizabeth Holmes reports to prison soon, it may be worth learning how she ended up there. Enter: Bad Blood, which chronicles one dropout's lofty idea, that turned into a scandal and a scam. All because of a few drops of blood that she swore could diagnose anything.
